Problems for the Russian LNG sector

What now for Russian LNG? Prior to 2022, the importance of the LNG sector to the Russian state budget was relatively small. In 2021, the Russian Federation exported 40.1 bcm of LNG and more than 200 bcm of pipeline gas. LNG thus accounted for 16% of Moscow’s gas exports.
