Addressing the deficits in the EU’s green industrial agenda

With the shift away from Russia as a major fossil energy supplier, the EU has embarked, on a new expedited permitting agenda. This is being done to speed up the deployment of renewable energy and other critical infrastructure projects. However, the current approach carries the risk of weakening key environmental safeguards for questionable projects, neglects social (in)justice and overlooks the importance of supporting policies.
