Status of German gas supply situation – October 5

The gas supply in Germany is stable. The security of supply is safeguarded. The starting point for winter 2023/24 is considerably better than a year ago, but some residual risks remain. Gas consumption in the week beginning 25 September 2023 was 30.8% below the average consumption for 2018 to 2021 and up by 5.2% compared with the week before. Wholesale prices have fallen slightly in the last few weeks. Businesses and private consumers must continue to adapt to fluctuating prices and a higher price level.
