28th December - is the day when the European regulation No 1227/2011 on wholesale energy market integrity and transparency entered into force (REMIT). With it, as of today, insider trading and market manipulation are specifically prohibited in the covered area. Market participants professionally arranging transactions are now obliged to publish certain insider information.
This is just starting point. Which is creating uncertainty amont Commodity trading companies and professionals.
The Aim of 2 days of current meeting is to join on the one side the Energy Trading parties and on the other side Regulatory bodies to tackle every single area of the new Regulations.
